Ameer Shahul is an author focusing on healthcare and climate change.
His debut book, Heavy Metal: How a Global Corporation Poisoned Kodaikanal (Macmillan, 2023), received wide acclaim. It won the GreenLitFest Book of the Year Award 2024 and was longlisted for the Tata Literature Live!
Awards 2023. The book has been translated into several languages and is being adapted into a feature film by Netflix.
His second book, Vaccine Nation: How Immunisation Shaped India (Macmillan, 2025), which traces India’s two centuries of vaccine journey, has been commended by leading global vaccine scientists and public health experts.
His next book, The Silent Syndicate (Hachette, 2026), explores the Western capture of Indian healthcare, followed by Liquid Empire (HarperCollins, 2027).
Before turning to writing, Shahul held leadership roles in global corporations for two decades, after spending a decade as a journalist with international newswires.
