Book: Landscapes of Loss
Emerging VoiceKavitha Iyer is the author of the award-winning Landscapes of Loss: The Story of an Indian Drought (HarperCollins, 2021), a work distilled from twelve years of reporting in the drought-scarred landscapes of Marathwada.
A Mumbai-based journalist and producer with more than twenty-five years in the field, her storytelling travels through climate change, rural distress, socio-economic precarity, and the shifting political economy of India’s countryside.
Her work listens closely to communities at the margins—their resilience, their silences, and their negotiations with a changing world. She serves on the editorial board of Article-14.com, hosts a podcast for The Free Press Journal, and is currently at work on her next book.
